QUINN-direct’s LOW COST MOTOR INSURANCE ATTRACTS 20,000 CUSTOMERS IN FOUR MONTHS
1 June 2005
QUINN-
direct, one of Ireland’s leading insurance companies, has signed up over 20,000 customers for its low cost motor insurance since its launch in the UK in early February 2005. The company is currently gaining around 1,000 motor customers a week with half of its customers taking out insurance via its website (
www.quinn-direct.co.uk).
QUINN-
direct provides motorists of all ages with competitive motor insurance prices, but particularly first time and inexperienced drivers, many of whom struggle to find affordable motor insurance cover elsewhere. The company prides itself on being able to offer motorists reasonably priced motor insurance cover on the basis of savings it can make in the claims management process. It also offers easy monthly payment plans to all ages so making it easier for them to get on the road. Cover is instant over the phone or online. The full extent of the savings available can easily be seen on the motor insurance comparison websites
www.moneysupermarket.com and
www.confused.com.
For instance, with QUINN-
direct, an 18-year-old male in London with a full licence will pay an annual cash payment of STG1,003 and an 18-year-old female with a full licence will pay STG598. A 20-year-old male will pay STG539 per annum, a 20-year-old female STG344 per annum, while a 22-year-old male will pay STG261 annually and a 22-year-old female will pay STG200 annually*.
According to Kevin Lunney, General Manager, QUINN-
direct, customers have been attracted to QUINN-
direct because of the low cost of its insurance and easy sign up process. “QUINN-
direct shook up the Irish insurance market by continually reducing the cost of motor insurance for consumers and making the purchase of insurance as hassle free as possible. Irish consumers voted with their feet and moved in huge numbers to QUINN-
direct and the same is now happening in the UK.”
This significant business take-up for motor insurance, extends the presence of the Company in the UK and complements the considerable impact it has already had on the Commercial Liability market. QUINN-
direct has been actively trading in Liability insurance in the UK for the past two years, with a particular slant towards the Construction and Allied trades insurance sector. This business stream is also expanding significantly and the recent launch of Commercial Vehicle and Fleet products positions the Company as an important insurer in the UK general insurance market overall.
QUINN-
direct, which employs over 1,000 personnel in Ireland, has rapidly grown to be one of the top three motor insurers in Ireland since its launch in 1996 and has gained a reputation for value and innovation along the way. With over 300,000 policyholders the company has been recognised by government and regulators as a key player in driving down insurance costs in Ireland, which has historically had one of the most prevalent claims’ cultures in Europe.
QUINN-
direct direct has seen annual growth in excess of 30 percent for each year of its nine-year history.
